You are the tide, soft but relentless,

An ancient tree that bends and sways with the winds, yet stands steadfast.

Roots firmly planted, reaching deep into the rich earth

As the North Star remains constant amid a sky of wandering lights, so do you.

Storms have come and gone, yet you remain,

Roots sinking deeper into the earth.

Winds howl and the days darken,

but still, you reach for the light.

The river does not ask why the rocks resist,

it simply carves its way forward.

You are not a stone, left behind—

You are the water, moving through

Hands once entwined
Now trace a hollow absence,
Fingers grasping at shadows.

The ocean, a patient keeper of distance,
holds its boundless breath,
waiting to be crossed again.
